Two weeks ago, we asked you who you thought was the best Suburban Council boys basketball player. After getting sidetracked by the NFL playoffs last week, we're now asking you who is the best girls basketball player in the Suburban Council. Here are your six (yes, six) candidates vying for your votes:

Amanda Batzold (Columbia): Currently leads the league in scoring average at 19 points per game for a Columbia team that is making waves in Craig Forth's first year as head coach.

Geena Gallo (Ballston Spa): Second in the league in scoring at 18.2 points per game for the third-place team in the North Division.

Bridget Murphy (Bethlehem): Averaging 14 points per game from the shooting guard position for the Lady Eagles, who sit in third place in the highly-competitive South Division.

Madison Rowland (Shaker): Averaging 14.2 points per game for the defending Section II Class AA champions.

Emily Weber (Shenendehowa): Third in the league in scoring average (16.6 points per game) and reigning league most valuable player.

Lauren Woods (Shaker): The Blue Bison's top post player with a 14.5 points per game average and a complimentary player to Rowland.

You have until midnight on Feb. 1 to vote in this poll. Write-in candidates can be included in the comment section, but they won't count in the final tally. Thank you.
